Pitch

Good afternoon,
I’ve recently purchased a Keystone Bullet 1800RB. I am towing it with my Ford F-150 Supercrew. The pitch of the trailer appears to be low. However, I haven’t had issues when towing.

Question:
Would a $200 rising hitch fix the issue or should I purchase a weight dist. hitch?

Thanks!

I'd get a weight distribution hitch. I have the 1900 RB and I have a WD hitch with a RAM 1500 tow vehicle. Keeps the proper amount of weight on the front wheels for better steering and control.

I agree with Wendell (1tenor) It may seem like a bit more money, but it will raise and lower, limit sway, and will offer peace of mind if the weather gets nasty.

By all means get a wdh. Although that isn't a large trailer it is still a 21 1/2' long, 4400lb. "sail" that will get caught with crosswinds, passing semis etc.. A 1/2 ton suspension, unmodified isn't really equipped to stop the push of even something that size; soft tires, springs and shocks will definitely get pushed side to side when a gust catches the trailer. Personally I do not like the hitches with the chains or ones with the little "attachment" type friction sway control bars (attaches to a separate ball).

I agree that some type of weight distribution and sway control should be used. I would try to use a trunnion style since it has built in sway control. The type with a chain and seperate sway bar will work, but they all need to be set up properly.
