Not a blu-ray

I was surprised to find out that our dvd player in our Alpine is not a blu-ray player. I thought for sure the salesman said it was. Now I am looking around for a blu-ray player that is 5.1 compatible without buying the whole surround sound package. I realize this is not a huge issue, just an annoyance of not being able to play many of our movies.

We bought Vizio blu-ray players for ours.

I agree it is annoying.

Samsung is what I refer to all my friends. They are a little more than some of the cheaper brands but have given me trouble free operation for years in three rooms of my house. I'm a huge fan of that brand for TV's and blu-ray players and bought as an early adopter when BR first came out.
