Solar Packages

I have read a lot of input from people giving there advice on what kind of solar packages to use. my wife and I are just starting you take longer trips and have decided to go into parts of WV and dry camp. I was wondering what would the best package to get that would not break the bank.

Thanks
Phil

There are two companies I can recommend, Zamp and Renogy. Both make quality portable solar kits. I'd suggest a minimum 100w kit to keep your batteries topped off. Kits will include the solar panels and appropriately sized controller plus cable and connections to your TT all in a nice "suitcase" package. Portable kits are less expensive and less complicated to install than permanently mounted roof units.

This is good advice. Those are good companies.

Solar Packages

We use GoPower. Installed lots and almost zero failures. Go Power is standard on Tiffen motorhomes

I got a GoPower system, works real good. can you get cheaper, yes. If your comfortable doing the install yourself you can buy everything separate and do it for about 30% of the cost. one thing, buy the biggest system that is in your budget.

Zamp has a good rep, but man they are proud of their stuff.

We likewise are looking into the portable “suitcase” as a way to put a toe into the solar world. For me the Renogy is looking good. But we will go with 200 amp.
