Don’t you just love it when I post information, like the two paragraphs above, word for word right out of the pages of a USTMA publication and then an expert presents another twist on it with a reference to a blog with commercial sponsorship. DAH!

John thanks for posting the photo of ford factory TPMS valve stems. When you go back and look at post #17 of rubber valves. Mine where like those and the base and the neck ripped apart and that blew the valve out of the tire on 1 the other remained attached and I could see the rip. Looks like the ford TPMS are screwed together in the tire. I do not think the ford valves could fail like the standard rubber type pushed through the wheel, held in place by the rubber groove near it's base.
I doubled checked my 2013 and the caps are plastic, those will be replaced with metal.
