Agreed. If the debris can be blown back into the FW tank, then it can be flushed out the tank.
Reaching the top side of a tank that is slung under the chassis is not always an easy DIY task.
One other question for the OP. Is the junk actual stuff that you can see, or is it an obstruction that you can not visualize? Some have reported kinks in the vent. If it is a kink, then you may be in for a bit more effort.
