Amazon Prime

I hope this doesn't cross a forum line of some sort. It just occurred to me to post it.

Maybe everyone has Amazon Prime, and maybe they don't. I never had it until my daughter told me to get it. I'm not affiliated with them in any way and never knew about them until she and her husband insisted I get it since I bought so much stuff.

I have been looking for upgrades for the truck, RV, house etc. over the past few days. I've purchased all kinds of things and the cool thing is....there is no shipping cost....with 2 day shipping!! I had quit trying to buy online, or wait until I had a large purchase to offset the shipping costs....now there are none.

I ordered a 7 pin plug cover....small cost...no shipping. I had no source for glazer pins for glass, even after driving 60 miles to our "large" town to find; Amazon had them for 3.55 and no shipping!

I could go on about it but my thinking was if someone didn't have it they should look into it. It has simplified my life looking for stuff, and reduced the costs, dramatically. My good friend and neighbor (86) asked me if I couldn't just get stuff for him because he "doesn't do that stuff" and it's cheaper and easier - of course I do.

Again, I don't want to be an advertisement for them but they have REALLY simplified our life after Walmart closed. Plus, I think we get free movies or something....DW would know.

Just was thinking about it after ordering some stuff this evening that is unavailable to us....in quick order.....and free shipping. To us, it's a great deal. We have so many members in so many far flung places I thought it might be something of interest.

And if you go through www.smile.amazon.com they will donate a portion to the charity of your choice, the Semper Fi Fund, in my case.

I use Amazon for 75% of my business and it saves me a ton of time. I've never had any problems with them in the last 5 yrs.

Love Amazon Prime. Have had it for several years now. You get Amazon Video (streaming movies) and Amazon Music (internet radio, basically) included with it.

The Prime is awesome but it can be almost too good with one click buying. Takes advantage of some us impulse buyers.

Not always lowest cost, even when shipping costs are included. My last 5 purchases were found for less in just a few minutes with a few clicks and couple minutes. Some only $5 and one $1.99 item found elsewhere for 80 cents. That item would have been less at Amazon but I needed 9 so even with the small shipping I was ahead.

I've had Prime for about two years now and really like. But, you do have to be careful and exercise some due diligence when shopping the total price including the shipping aspect. Of course the shipping is always included if it's Prime, but there are times you can find the exact same item for less, pay for shipping, and it's still cheaper than prime.

I use it very often, the neighbors think I have a thing for the delivery person because they deliver packages so often.

Saves me from having to drive my dually in town!

I don't find Amazon Prime to be the best pricing on items for the RV. I have a couple of vendors that are consistently than Prime, and many offer free shipping.

Two items for sure the our Cheap Heat system was $50 more on Amazon, and JT Strong arem were also about $50 more on Amazon.

And if you live on the "out skirts" you can do much of your shopping for household stuff and not have to spend the $2.50 a gallon for gas. Just can't get the delivery guy/gal to bring it in and put it away. Or maybe you have a better relationship with them than I do!

We have had Prime for 3+ years now. Yes, you may pay more in some cases but when you factor hours of running around plus the cost of gas/fuel it may end up being less. Then there are some of their associate sellers alongside their regular pricing(right hand side) where you may not pay, in my case, 7% tax and occasionally the price is even less but the penalty is shipping may take a day or two longer. My current (yesterday ) $45 order is 'winging' its way as I type and will be here tomorrow --- and I never left my biggest/plushest possible La-Z-Boy to chase those items, all RV related, down

I've had it for 4 years and it is great. I do comparison shop on most things over say $50. Amazon seems to have changed their searching and sorting routines lately. You will see above the list "only showing relevant items" and you have to click to show all items. Search results seem more erratic than typical.

I don't have time to run around and find some of these hard to find items. With traffic, gas, going to the store, and wasting all my time, I will pay whatever it takes as long as it is reasonable!
