Wet floors from putting slides in after rain?

The wife closed up the Camper this morning in the rain. This evening when we got to our campsite and opened the slides the floors were wet underneath the slides. Is this normal? Expected? It is a brand new 2014 cougar 330rbk.

Wet Floor

We live in WA and we stay at Pacific Beach very often. If it has rained when it is time to leave the camp ground it takes both of us to bring in a slide. We keep old towels around just for that purpose. We wipe the sides down first, then we get as much off the top as possible. The rubber seal which is supposed to clear off the rain can only do so much. For my old fashioned thinking, wet carpet means mildew; so we are fussy.

Yes, we too end up with some moisture on the floor. I've considered a slide awning but haven't done it yet. Mostly vinyl flooring, mops up easy, and we strive keep the inside dry anyway as condensation is always an issue in RV's.

The water on the floor is likely from water that ran off of slide roof once closed. When I close up the slide in rain, I usually go inside once the slide is closed and wipe up remaining water on slide roof with a towel. Another thing that helps is to raise front of trailer before closing slides to allow pooled water to flow off slide roofs.

We have experienced the same. Even had rain water splash over the top onto the table when closing. The water on the floor seems to be at corners of the slide. We just mop up with a towel. We have also been considering a slide awning.
