Make Living room slide deploy first, bedroom second

2005 Montana Mountaineer TT, MR335RLBS05
Hi all, I hope someone can help me. Not a game changer, but I would like my Living room/ dining room slide to deploy first, THEN the bedroom slide, opposite to order now.. Anyone know how I might accomplish this ?
I believe It has an electric/hydraulic system. Is this even possible? Something I could do myself? ( Retired electrician )
Thanks for your help/ input. Bob

Welcome to the forum

If a single button extends/retracts all the slides they are most likely hydraulic operated and unfortunately you can’t “pick the order” they move, They are all on 1 circuit.

It is my understanding that the initial movement - in or out - has to do with which unit is closest to the hydraulic pump (i.e. the shortest hydraulic lines). My hydraulic pump is located up front on the drivers side of the RV…therefore my drivers side slide moves first.

You can run the out individually in your preferred order by using the knobs on the Lippert control box - pic below.
DS - door side (also known as the passenger side)
ODS - opposite door side (the drivers side).

Hopefully others will confirm my understanding or set me straight if this is not correct.

The knobs at the manifold would work, but it would require 2 trips out to the compartment that has the manifold and knobs.

Edit to my post #3 above…I did not realize your Mountaineer is a travel trailer. I found several sales videos from years past where the dealer walks thru the unit highlighting the features - but none of them discussed the slide type or mechanism. I could not find a sales brochure to see if the slide type is listed in the specs portion of a typical brochure. The pic below is a screen shot from one of those videos and the Lippert control panel is nowhere to be found on the exterior. I did see brief glimpses of the single large switch used to operate the slides typically mounted just inside the main door. My mid-90s Alpenlite fifth wheel had an electric rack and pinion slide - not hydraulic. Does your unit have a hydraulic pump in one of the storage compartments? If not - maybe it is an electric slide. If so - I doubt you can change the sequence of operation.

For reference, the second pic shows a typical hydraulic pump reservior and valves in a newer Montana fifth wheel.

A 2005 is way behind current Montana equipment. The slides are hydraulically actuated and the order of movement is based on the weight of the slide. The lighter the slide, the less pressure it takes to move it. The bedroom slide will always move first and then the kitchen slide.

Occasionally Montana would offer a manifold valve (similar to what is used to day) on some models with 3 or more slides. It sat below the pump assembly and had rotary knobs. But they were rare.
Some people have added valves to achieve the "lockout" function. That info can be found on another Montana forum.

Here's a link to the Montana Forum where someone had, almost, the same question. This is a newer year Mountaineer, but maybe something here will help you.
