Smile Hello from Maine!

Husband and I just bought a 2008 Keystone Outback LE (QBHS). We are hoping to get out for a road trip or two per year with the kids and hubby is hoping for a couple boondocking trips (he doesn't love campgrounds) as well.

Currently we have gotten 8 inches of snow in the last 3 days and forcasted for another 8 inches or so tonight so I'm dreaming of our first summer road trip and hoping these forums will be helpful as we start to plan and prepare!

Welcome to the forums and congrats on getting your new Outback. Our previous travel trailer was an Outback. Got it new and had it for 5 years. We absolutely loved it. We outgrew it when we decided to switch over to a fifth wheel and looking at retirement and full timing. Still, the Outback is very dear to us.

Hang in there. That snow will eventually go away. First chance you get, do some driveway camping to learn how everything works on your camper and help you figure out how to stock it also.

And by the way .... electric blankets are wonderful in campers! Just because you are "camping" does not mean you have to do it "primative!"

Good luck on finding boon docking sites. There's not much available anything East of the Mississippi River. Public lands are just not truly "public" any more unless you go West!

Thanks! My husband likes to boondock... he thinks campgrounds are "too people-y" LOL

I prefer a place to hook-up and let the kids go find something to do or to adventure together.

Driveway camping is definitely the first order of business! We used to have a small 5th wheel and that was the first "trip" we made - found a few things that needed fixing/tweaking and it made our first trip out with it much easier!

After that - hoping to road trip down south to visit family and see a few natural wonders
