Install bedroom TV

There is sticker on the wall indicating vaguely where to place the mount. It does not feel too solid there...any help would be appreciated. I would also like to place a mount on the outside of the trailer.

Incidentally, I am planning a trip to Alaska with my 3 dogs in April.

Thank you,

It’s becoming more common to use a sheet of steel glued to the back of the wall panel. You could try a strong magnet to find the edges. Unless there is a label on the exterior I wouldn’t advise mounting anything on the outside.

Most of the OEM TV mounts that I've seen on a trailer exterior are "swing away mounts" located either on a structural member inside a hatch with a door or in the passthrough with doors.

Any VESA mount located in the open is subject to rain, road grime, rust, corrosion and the screws will "invite moisture through the FILON and into your foam laminated trailer sidewalls.....

A little late but.....

I didn't detect anything solid to the right of the sticker in my Cougar so I bought a small piece of 3/8" project board, covered it with darker wood grain contact paper and used liquid nails to gluing to the luan where I wanted the TV mount. I was going to attach the mount with toggle bolts but when I drilled through the luan, I found there was some material behind like maybe 3/8" particle board so I just used the plastic anchors and bolts that came with the mount.

The 2 drywall screws on the left are in a stud. The TV mount sticker was in between them.

That mount is the same as the one I used. It is a PAW mount. I used it to mount a 42 in. TV in the bedroom of our 2023 Cougar 23MLE.

Our 23MLE had a 38? Inch Summit in the LR. I put a 65" TV in the LR and moved the Summit to the BR with this.

Also, that mount has 2 screws on top to prevent the TV from bouncing up and out of the mount during travel. I have the TV about 2 inches from the ceiling so putting in the TV is difficult and putting in those screws looks nearly impossible. During travel I just shove a shirt or something in the top of the TV and that has worked so far. The wardrobe slide just touches the TV when it's closed so I'm going to put a bit of tape there.
