Why anyone would purposely do this is beyond me.

Destroy the truck, 5er and damage the building.

I wonder if his insurance company would cover damages after seeing the videos of the mess.

Gary, If the unfortunate driver that pulled this driving stunt had Allstate insurance, I have it on good authority that they would pay...

They might be obligated to pay, but not to keep you as a client. Rates just go up for idiots...or irresponsible drivers just don't bother because insurance is too expensive so they have no insurance when they hit you.

Insurance company! You're kidding, We're talking police, courts, law suites! You can bet the cops were there soon after and the Dairy Queen business owners had him in court for damages to the building and loss of income.
This guys got bigger problems than his insurance company, which I'm sure wouldn't pay for intentional damage to his vehicle. He'll be paying for this stupidity for years to come.

"Intentionally bad acts are not covered by insurance. Most states have statutory or common law prohibitions against insuring acts undertaken intentionally, with the intent to cause harm. Society simply does not permit a gross wrongdoer to profit by shifting financial responsibility for inherently bad acts to an insurance company."

I believe you're correct.
If this wasn't intentional, a normal sane person would probably stop what they're doing to assess the situation.
Unless he was a disgruntled transporter looking for his last day...

This would be just like owning a business that is failing and you burn it down to collect insurance to get out of it. It's called "insurance fraud". I can't believe it would be covered. I could be wrong, but....................

would insurance cover it if you were under the influence of drugs or alcohol? or having a mental breakdown? …yeah it looks intentional but nobody in their right mind would do that…it’s been a crazy couple of years and some people just snapped…for a lot of people the world changed so fast and so differently then they ever expected, and they weren’t equipped to handle it.

Who knows what this guy went thru

Well it definitely wasn't the drive thru... But at least he gave it the old college try.

They shouldn't. Would save the rest of us tons on our premiums. Maybe, just maybe would help people think twice before driving that way to. Doubt it, but hay, I can dream.

i’m not trying to defend anyone that’s drunk or on drugs ..i do have some compassion for the person dealing with mental health issues.. it may have been his breaking point…the video i linked has an eyewitness that says the guy had a blank look on his face and didn’t seem to comprehend what was happening…stroke?

I think I know what happened, because it's happening to me right now. I'm damn hungry, and I can't my break yet, so that makes me "hangry", just like this guy. He just wanted a chicken sandwich and some ice cream, and the damn building got in the way. It could happen to anyone of us...
