Replacement TV roof antenna

We have a 2019 Cougar Half-Ton 26RBSWE and the round "flying saucer" TV antenna on the roof is very wobbly, and there doesn't appear to be any way to tighten it down. The "mast" is secure, but the saucer on top is loose.

I'm not sure, but I thought I've heard these are notorious for having this problem. I'm selling the trailer and would like to replace it, and to make the mounting easier, I would like to just replace it with a new one of the same model (so the mounting holes will match, etc.). However, I can't find one anywhere. Can anyone provide a link to one I can purchase?

If I have to go with a different model, are there any suggestions? How difficult will it be to install it. I'm wondering about dealing with the original mounting screw holes and what to do with the wires/cables.

Thanks for any advice.

If the saucer wobbles on the mast and you are going to sell it (or even if you're going to keep it) why not just tighten the screws and run a bead of silicone sealant around the space between the saucer and the mast. When the silicone cures, the saucer won't wobble any more, and if by some chance, you need to disassemble it, you can always cut the silicone to get the parts separated.

Is there a screw? When I looked I didn't see anything (I'll look again in the morning).
I put duct tape around it, hoping that would keep it from flying off, but it's still leaning and looks bad.

As i recall there are no screws at that joint. The installation manual says before you snap that joint together make damn sure you've done everything you need to because it doesn't come out again. In real life, it can come out again, but you have to be a bit of a locksmith. I think I saw a video on YouTube showing how to get it apart again.

Not sure what brand antenna you have, but there was a recall on those antennas and the fix was to replace it with a different style antenna. This was even a NHTSA recall notice. https://www.rvnews.com/nhtsa-issues-...r-jayco-units/

The recall is for a wing-style directional antenna. Mark's model (and mine) has the flying-saucer shaped omni antenna.

I did check with my dealer on the antenna and was told there was no recall for it.
Is there a recommendation for a replacement?

If I had my druthers I'd replace mine with an old-fashioned batwing. My powered storage location is exactly on the other side of my house from all the TV antennas in the city, and the omni reception is so marginal that if I get out of my recliner in the rig to get a soda. the screen pixelates and loses signal. I never had a signal problem in my old rig. Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure that where the crank would come through the ceiling is right in the middle of the pantry wall, so that's not happening.

I would see if it was possible to run a couple of self tapping screws where the head overlaps the base.

I have found that saucer antenna to be almost useless. Hope someone has a recommendation for a replacement.

Mine is not a saucer shape, but more like a smoothed wing. It locks into plastic on one side and is screwed (one screw) on the other. I used a longer screw when I put it back together. I am not sure why mine wasn't included in the recall...

Does anyone use roof mount antenna these days?
Considering removing unit just to avoid possible future water leak.

There was a recall on the batwing antennas. I believe it was the Furrion batwing style and a new brand was the replacement.
Keystone will know the years, models and antennas covered. The batwing has tendency to fly off enroute as well as collateral damage to those behind you.
The dealers service shop was doing the change upgrade free. I believe some folks got the replacements and self installed and saved the wait of dealer scheduling.

Something like this should be a pretty easy replacement. Super easy install. A little camper tape under it and self leveling sealant around the base and Bob's yer uncle.

Did you ever replace the antenna? Mine is loos as well. I don’t think it will work being as loose as it is. If you replaced yours what did you go with?

If you're asking me (the OP), no, we sold the trailer. The antenna was working just fine - it was just a little loose so we reinforced it with some duct tape.
