My new 2014 GMC Denali to pull my new 2014 redwood 38rl. Actually haven't pulled the Redwood yet but have pulled a Cougar 36ft 5'ver. Pulls like a dream has the exhaust brake that is a gift from god when going down a steep grade. Got 18 mpg right of dealer lot only have 1200 miles on it now so no towing mpg's. Installed an ATI toolbox/tank combo with an extra 60 gallon capacity. Also installed a B&W turnover ball and 20k Companion hitch.

Super Duty

Moved up to a Big Boy truck over the weekend. Can't wait to hook it up to the Laredo, but that isn't happening until January. Also need to update my signature as well!

The BEAST

Still kicking and looking reasonably decent after 14 years of faithful service. We hope to get at least another 10 years or so out of her. 230,000kms on the odometer and serviced "by the book" (1999 Dodge Sched "B"), mostly by me! We just had the 47RE automatic rebuilt before we left for our winter trip to Earp, California -a breathtaking $4,000.00 bill. However, the rebuilder did put a lot of HD trailer towing parts including a new valve body with a shift kit and a billet torque converter.

I confess that at times I am jealous or envious of those of you who have the ways and means to have brand new trucks and SUV's or what have you. Yet every time I drive the BEAST, for all of her idiosyncrasies and buck board ride I just love this darn thing. Besides, shes all paid for!

Cheers and Merry Christmas!

Here's a pic of our rig set up for towing. I cranked up the t-bars in front, added a tool box, and a 110 gallon fuel tank with a pump. I love this truck. I'm actually glad I didn't get the diesel I was looking at. The 8.1 has all the power I'll ever need, and I have had zero mechanical issues.

(sorry, I don't know how to attach a thumbnail.)
