Cold weather camping

What is the best and least expensive material to use in making skirting for our Montana? Would mobile home skirting work? (I don't know how expensive it is) We plan on putting a couple of heat lamps under the trailer to keep the pipes from freezing. Will this combo do the trick?

Curlyfungirl -

Do a "Search" on cold weather. Hankaye wrote an excellent post on how to skirt an RV. I will add that you don't want to skirt in the area beneath the propane tanks - leave that area beneath open to the outside. Propane is heavier than "air", so if you have a leak, the propane would pond inside the skirt. Not good - yields a big bang!

curlyfungirl, Howdy;

The post that geo was kind enough to mention
was about skirting a TT. That's what I was living in at the time
in Mount Pleasant, Ut.
I now have a 5th wheel and have some fabric (herculite),
skirting that was custom fitted by a guy and his daughter
in Co.

Excellent job and having a milder winter didn't hurt either...

Best and least expensive don't balance well. Best will cost $'s...
Least expensive won't do what ya need it to do... Best to pay a bit more
and be happy campers ... ;-)
