I would assume the original 110 VAC outlet on the island was either a GFI or a normal outlet daisy chained from a nearby GFI? If so how did you address this in your mod involving the new inverter?

I haven't run the internal AC yet but my thought was that if it is daisy chained, to remove the two Romex cables from the outlet and wire nut them together along with a third jumper wire which will run to the top outlet. (total of 3 wires each in the wire nuts).

Worse case I will install a double outlet box and have a completely separate outlet for the inverter.

This is a commercial version (no consumer warranty) but is only 700w and is what Hilton hotels use.
