Low point drains?
I winterized my X-Lite 29RBK this past weekend. I noticed the underbelly low point drains seemed to only have caps and not valves of any sort. I just cracked the caps and let it run until pink, so it's taken care of. But now I'm wondering if I should try and put on some type of valve. Has anyone done this, and what kind of valve did you use?

Here's what I was thinking of replacing the caps on mine with http://www.sprinklerwarehouse.com/Aq...-p/pbv-050.htm
Aside from question of whether the 1/2 inch size is right or not, the only probs I see are possibility of valve leaking, knob getting accidentally bumped and turned, and kids in RV park turning em.

fireidiot, Howdy;
Been thinking along the same lines. As I have mine run thru the
basement, I was thinking of installing the valves in the basement
to eliminate one more occasion of having to kneel on the gravel.
It would also bring that amount of 'freeziable' water inside and
eliminate un-mannered 'ankle nippers', from proving their parents
lase of social disapline training.

Well I'm glad to see that this is something that Keystone does for all of it's TT's. I thought mine (with a few other issues we have had) was built on Friday. My old Starcraft had the 1/4 turn valves, so I was surprised to see that Keystone did not include them. I think I'll wait until next season to replace them.
I've never had an issue with the old TT and the valves getting turned, is this common with kids?

I replaced my caps with Shark Bite ¼ turn straight stop valves. Since the newer trailers have started using Pex tubing standard plumbing fittings will work. The OD of the Pex used in trailers is the same as ½ copper (5/8 nom) used in most homes. Shark Bites just push on so anyone can do it but a tool is required to remove them. When I close my valves I cover them with a short piece of foam pipe insulation attached with a cable tie. This not only protects from the weather and road dirt but hides them from prying little eyes and fingers. Not that any sweet little would ever be tempted to play with a shiny chrome thingy just hanging there.

I replaced both my caps with the same valve used to drain the fresh water tank. Don't remember the part number, but seems to me your dealer should have it in their parts book. Sure makes it quicker and easier to winterize/dewinterize.

SteveC7010 told me where to get the valves. I don’t remember where, but they were called Flair-It fittings. You might Google that and look around, or maybe send Steve a PM.

My Cougar has Pex for low point drains and reinforced vinyl tube for the fresh water drain. They use different size fittings. Yours may also.
