Bug screens

Just purchased a new rig (29BHPR). Looking to see others who have the same setup and what they use to prevent the critters. I’ve seen some on Amazon and the local camping store but not sure what sizes to pick. And of course I went and stored it earlier without measuring beforehand.

Bug screens are somewhat controversial among RV'ers, especially for the furnace. Generally speaking, the manufacturer would have put a finer (mesh) screen if it was safe to do so.
I'm certain you will be inundated with posts by owners who "have done it for years." Yep, probably while towing their Montana with Tow-Max tires, behind their Toyota Tacoma. ( just a little Sunday humor)
The risk is your furnace overheating because of poor air circulation. I'm not saying not to buy the screens, just that you invite big problems on a new RV. If you choose to screen the furnace vent, pull the furnace fuse at the box so that when it is time to warm up the RV you will also remember to remove the screen while the furnace is in use.

Both Dometic and Norcold have said the use of bug screens on the refer access can void the warranty. They both say to use cheap flea collars. I also recommend the W/H. The furnace seems to be the one that people discuss.

I also put the flea collars in the water heater compartment and the fridge outside lower part. When not using the trailer, I took a paper towel and wrapped around the heater vent opening to keep critters out. Mud daubers bad around here in the spring/summer.
