Question Install Furrion Camera on Voyager pre-wired

Keystone's website and brochure says the new Springdales come with Furrion backup camera/observation prep.

So I purchased a new Furrion Vision S. Today, when I went to install, I discovered that it is NOT pre-wired for a Furrion but a Voyager!

Can I install the Furrion where the Voyager is? If so, how to don it without making a mess? Screws do not line up.

Or am I better to return the Furrion and find a Voyager.

I ended up taking off the voyager plate. Cleaned the caucking. Switched the wire connection for furrion. Installed the furrion camera. Put bottom screws from voyager back holding nothing but at least filling in holes.

Looks okay.

You should make sure you seal those holes. Putting the screws back in won't be enough (but I can't tell from your picture if you already did this - it just doesn't look like you did )

I have the same bracket on my Outback. Did you look into the Voyager cams? Are they comparable to the Furrion?

I used the Furrion on the Voyager backplate. I think Stevie Wonder had cut the hole in the TT behind the plate.
I then screwed the camera to the Voyager plate and caulked best I could.

Issue I have, is that the blue light on the camera is constantly on.

Furrion Camera to Voyager pre wire

I have the camera and housing with pigtail. Did you just splice the pigtail into the wires that are there for the Voyager? Is so do the lights have to be on for the camera to work? I have the observation camera and want it to be on when the lights are on not only when in reverse.

My camera is on any time that the running lights are on. I just turn the headlights on manually when towing.

Looking at getting a use Passport 2890RL. “Pre wired for backup camera”. Is the pre-wire power and bracket mount location just for power? Is there a video line that should come out to the trailer hitch area? Where can I find more information on this?

In the case that this is power only connection — any suggestions on which WIRELESS systems to get (or stay away from)?

Thanks!

this is what i did

This is what I ended up doing with my setup. Removed the Voyager plate, cut off the power plug for voyager and wired my Halo. Mounted the camera bracket to the voyager plate and mounted the plate back on the camper. the Haloview MC7108 system works great!

2890RL Passport Grand touring Backup Camera

Looks sharp. We have yet to buy the camper, so I have an ignorant question or two --

1) What does the cable look like? Is it Power / Ground / Video / Audio connections? Or just power?
2) if this is a hardwired connection, where does it connect out into the hitch side of things?

Thanks in advance for your experience.

Mike

Power Only, no video

It seems there is no set way they are wired, people are finding them wired different ways. Some are always hot and some are wired with the clearance lights. You would just have to test yours.

My 2020 Springdale is the same with voyager on the trailer.
How do you like the quality of the furrion cameras on the screen. Been looking at getting the system with the 7” screen with rear and side cameras.
