Blackstone Flattop

Purchased a 28" Blackstone last year to replace the bumper mounted grill that didn't work well. Used it as it came last year with an attached propane tank and found it heavy and unwieldly to move around camp.

Tossed the grill, but kept the hose that connected it to the quick connect on the camper. Added fittings (with the correct Teflon tape for gas) to connect this hose to the flattop after removing the regulator/hose.

With this new hose connected to the flattop, I purchased a 12' hose from Camping World (CW item #86731) to connect the flattop's new hose to the camper. This length gives me some selection for locating the flattop in camp.

To use the Flattop at home I added a female quick connect (with the correct Teflon tape for gas) to the flattop's original regulator hose.

Shown together, the hose on the bottom will connect to the Flattop permanently.

Works well. At home I use the regulator hose to attach the flattop to a tank, on the road I use the 12' hose to attach it to the camper.

I use to have the larger Blackstone for the house and took it on the road to Disney one year when there was a large group. Loved it but didn't really like the clean-up. I think the smaller one that you have would be easier/lighter for traveling. I think these are great and very flexible to cook on. We ended-up selling ours when we moved and I miss it! Great idea about how to convert it to the quick disconnect!

I have the 22" from wallyworld, it comes with the lid and legs. I very seldom use my weber Q- grill any more.

Even this 28" isn't light, but we often camp with a group and it is much nicer than the grill was.
