Insect screen on fridge

Are the iinsect screen worth putting on ?also do they restrict the air flow. Or affect the appliance that would void the warranty? Thanks for any information you might have.

Putting a screen on the vents can void the warranty. Go to the dollar store and get a few flea collars, cut them up and lay them in the bottom part of the OUTSIDE lower refer access.

I installed them on our last RV and this one. I did not see an impact on the air flow in the fridge. The last and our present RVs has fans in the rear section to improve air flow.

We have our RV in storage for a few months down south and I wanted something to keep bugs and critters out.

Have them installed on the fridge (upper and lower vent cover), hot water heater and furnace. I keep them clean so as not to impact the appliance.

If I need warranty work they will come off before I take it in. The RV service tech came to our house and installed a rear shade and he saw some of the mods we have made to the RV and thought it was a good idea to have them installed.

Screens on the furnace are a good idea. If you look at the water heater door, there is enough gap for spiders to enter so IMO the screen is useless.

I installed the screens on the fridge and heater exhaust. I think they are worth installing . Bees, wasp, etc won't be a problem for me.

Don't forget about the top refrigerator vent (if you have a top vent) or the upper sidewall vent (if your refrigerator is installed in a slide). I see a lot of owners who put screens on the lower vent, at the base of the refrigerator and forget completely about the roof vent which does have a screen installed in the base, but the screen is nearly 3/8" mesh. Spiders, wasps and yellow jackets can easily crawl through the screen. Consider that the "other vent" is actually a "back door" to that nice, warm place to build a nest and go travelling with you.

While I had the covers off to install the screens on the frig vents I sealed the areas better and painted the "bare" wood. The areas were not sealed very good at the factory. When the RV parked the area may not get wet but when going down the road in the rain water could get in.

Where did you find the round mesh that you put on the furnace intake?

I've never even thought about this before and it sounds like the best post so far.
I actually don't see what all the fuss is from the other posters as do they not have bugs come in every time they open their doors?
