5er Basement storage door leak

The curb side basement storage compartment door on my 329fbh outback leaks when raining. It looked like the door radius weatherstrip wasn't lined up well for full contact so I replaced it with new. The seal is very tight now. I checked the compartment again today after a heavy rain and the door is still leaking (good amount of water collected in the black plastic pan). The exterior sidewall trim around the door opening appears to be tight with no gaps. My hunch is that water is getting in somehow past the top hinge and dripping down the inside of the door. The hinge is riveted to the top edge of the door. Has anyone experienced this?

Leak sources can be tough to pin down after the fact. One thing you can try is to get inside the compartment with a flashlight and have someone spray the exterior lightly with a hose. You might then be able to see where the leak starts.

Thanks. I'm positive the water is getting in past the hinge, just not sure how to repair it. It appears that the hinge plate that is riveted to the top door edge is very slightly loose. I was thinking of drilling out and replacing the rivets with larger ones.
Just wondering if anyone else has had leaks at the hinge.

Our leak was not at the hinge. The seal, and caulking around the frame all looked good. Finally found that the screws holding the door frame in were not sealed and the water would seep in around the bottom screws. I removed them, gave a shot of silicone caulk into the hole, replaced the screws and sealed around the screw head. No more leaks.
