Airbags on F350??

Last week I purchased a set of Airlift Load Lifter 5000 Ultimate bags for my F250. The shop had to order them and I'm scheduled to have them installed on Monday.
Today, I purchased an F350 and traded in the F250.
My question is this:
If by chance the bags fit a F350 is there even a need for airbags on the F350?
The max GVW of my trailer is 17k

I would have them installed. When I bought my 350 I had a Jayco And it was lighter than yours but still heavy. I tried towing and found that there was just enough pin weight that made the hitch “bounce” off the overloads on certain bumps. I installed a set of AirLift 5000 bags with on board air and all my bounce went away. Current fiver is even lighter, but I still set them at about 40 PSI. I also upgraded to a Rota-flex pin box so I get no chucking.

Long winded post, but I would put them on for that one time you hit a real lousy road.

It won’t increase your payload but it could make your truck level and help with stability. I have a factory air suspension on my 1 ton truck and I really like them. You should be able to go to the air bag manufacturer website and see what what trucks they fit

They should fit, but it's pretty easy to look it up

As for needing them, they do nothing to increase load carrying capacity. In fact they reduce the payload by their weight.
As for the allowable payload of your new F350.... you're in better shape than you were but most likely still over weight.

Me... I'd go ahead and have them installed, at least you'll look less overloaded.

Thanks for the reply. Sound like logical advice.
Now, I sure hope the bags I ordered will fit an F350.

Like everything else there appears to be a shortage of airbags and the shop had to order them from two different states so I hope I can utilize them on the F350.
I'll know Monday, we'll update

Depends on how they mount. You will love them, especially if you got the on board or remote air.

Javi, "most likely still overweight" makes it obvious you have not looked at the specs for a 2021 F-350.
I will be just fine. Thanks for your concern anyway.

Well depends on where you looked! Did you look at the VIN and Payload stickers on the F350 you just bought?
The GVWR on an F350 can range from 9,900# to 12,400#, payloads can reach about 4,400# on a diesel 4X4.

I am adding air bags for on my 3500 Ram. It will hopefully make me level again. I am just under on weights but want a better ride loaded. Is your new tuck dual rear or single rear? If single rear you will be close if not a little over due to GVW of your trailer. If dual rear wheel you should not have an issue.

Javi, with a 17k GVWR on the 5er doesn’t Texas require an endorsement for that size?

Look, take it for what it is, regardless of over weight or not you are infinitely better off than you were with the F250.

I'm sure not going to tell you that MUST do anything about it.
I do wish that there were a mandatory class that all people wanting to become RV'ers had to take... it sure would have saved many of us a lot of money and frustration.

Two more things to consider, make sure that the dealer registers your new truck for the 12,400 GVWR and you will need a Class A non-CDL driver's license to pull your new trailer with your new truck.

As I said.. good luck

Javi, yes, I looked into the Class A non CDL
Will be calling DPS on Monday.
Question: Why wouldn't they register the truck as 12,400#

What did they register it for?
Also what is your listed payload from the yellow sticker, Ford does have some big numbers there.

My 3500 was registered for 8800lbs. when I bought it in FL unknown to me. Asked the DMV lady in the county where I register and she said that's what they always do....to save the individual money. You could register it for any weight you wanted......I have 12,400 now.

Many of the dealers register even duallys as passenger vehicles some charge you the $131 then pay the lower fee. You need to check the actual registration documents. My current truck was done this way, when I got the paperwork from the county my 14K dually was registered for 9600 pounds.
I had to turn around and pay the difference at the county and get new paperwork. Now that it's paid off I have to get a new title because it is titled at 9600 also.

Well if TX DMV is anything like Oregon DMV. Their idea is the police will fix there problems in registering/licensing vehicles wrong. I and we as the state police told local and I yes, I told the head of DMV at the only time I got to talk to her about the many failures of DMV that caused the uniformed cops problems through their lack of doing it right the 1st time. Nothing changed, it's still up to well trained cops to fix DMVs mistakes.
Then I licensed in ID, DMV gal asked my GVWR, I told her 11,500. She said she would register it at 16,000 lb since that is the highest wt rating before paying extra. Really that was not a favor, if I was checked by the state police here at 16,000 lb I would expect a over weight ticket, regardless of what DMV said it is.

I think some of the registration issues are folks tat don't know what they are doing, some of it are folks trying to "do people a favor by saving them money" and some are nefarious folks trying to skim some money like the dealer example. It's up to the owner to do their due dillagance and find out before hand.

I would put the bags on as well. I'm thinking about adding them to my 3500. The truck squats just a bit but it also keeps the trailer level when it does. Pondering the bags to eliminate that but don't know if I can adjust the hitch/kingpin to keep it nice and level like it is. Might keep that in mind; if the new 350 sits as high in the back as the appear to any squat may be a benefit vs trying to keep the truck looking "normal" and not having any room between the bed rails.
