RV Corner Trim Insert Molding

HI Everyone,

Have to replace the cracked corner trim insert on my Cougar 26RLS. Was wondering which one is better, the JR Products 10111 or RV Designer E469 Heavy duty vinyl insert?

Both are sold from RV Upgrades. Tried to call but they were closed already.

Anyone have experience with either?

Thanks!

Vinyl when there is a choice.

They're both vinyl. One labeled "premium" the other "heavy duty". Was just trying to see if anyone liked one more than the other.

Thanks chuckster!

I would probably buy the less expensive one in that case.

We bought the RV Designer insert. Seems to be MUCH thicker than the OEM insert. Fits the channel tighter.

Perfect! That's what I ended up ordering! Hopefully will be able to install next week after this next round of storms blows through.

Just FYI - it was easier to "pinch" the insert and work it into the channel as opposed to pulling the insert through the channel from one end to the other.
Trying to pull the insert through the channel results in stretching the insert. I think pulling it through is how the factory installs it and that is why the trim shrunk back and pulled off of the end screw - making the insert look like it was a foot short.

We put one edge in and use a plastic scraper, to guide the other edge in. Works real good if the insert is warm too.

Well it went pretty well, except at the top where the track was bent over onto the roof. When it was installed they screwed it down crushing the edge of the track. It was clearly done from the top down since they had about 1" under the track to start. Then covered the whole mess up with Dicor. down below when I unscrewed the black corner cap pieces, a bit of water came out from the screw holes. tried to scrape as much of the silicone off then sealed with Geocell.
