Water heater

So I am heading out in a day and I just pulled the rv out and am getting it ready-
I don’t have anywhere to hook up electric-
Does the water heater need shore power to fire the igniter and start?
Just trying to start everything prior to heading out

Position that bypass valve as I’ve indicated in your other post FiRST.. hook city water to city 8nlet and open a hot water faucet inside..

Turn water on and let run till you see steady stream of water out of hot water faucet..

Now with the water heater tank filled turn propane on..

Your water heater doesn’t require 120 volts AC to run..it needs 12 volts DC to run the igniter module and fire the ignitor to light the burner

Fill the water heater first

Rinse the fresh water tank out of the low point drain before you run water through the pump! There are plastic cuttings in the tank (if new) that will foul the pump.

Keystone does not do an "excellent job of cleaning waste construction particles" from their trailers during assembly. There is likely to be 10-20 pounds of sawdust, wire insulation, PEX tubing, or other debris in your trailer. There will also be quite a bit of plastic shavings inside all of the tanks. The fresh water tank will have "junk in it"....

You can buy a "suction tube strainer" for your water pump. It fits in the suction line/water pump inlet fitting" and protects the pump head from anything that might be in the fresh water tank.

If you have a "snap fitting FloJet pump" this is the one that fits. If you have a Shure Flo pump, the fittings are different, so you'll need to find the one that fits your pump.

Straining the water going into the pump has "saved our pump head" several times.

Here's a link to one source. IMHO, it's the best $8 you could spend to insure you protect your water pump. https://www.amazon.com/Flojet-017403...3941452&sr=8-2

Yes! What John said ^^^^. It had slipped my mind that when i replaced the pump, I ordered one with a filter (might have been additional item on the order).

I used to say that drinking beer is good for you because brain cells are like buffalo in a herd. The alcohol kills the slow ones making the herd stronger. Well there aren’t as many buffalo these days.

The fastest Buffalo get to the cliff first and the rest of the herd pushes them over. It’s sort of like the early bird gets the worm, but the early worm is the first one to get eaten. It’s all a matter of perspective.

I've been to Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump... pretty much how it went.
