San Luis Bridge Toll Plaza

My wife and I are first time RVers, recently purchasing a 2016 Keystone Fuzion 403 that we pull with our 2020 3500 Ram. In one week, we will be traveling from Arkansas to Bluewater RV Resort located on the western end of Galveston Island. The route has us crossing the San Luis Bridge. The toll booth on the east end looks to be rather narrow. I’d greatly appreciate any insight if our Keystone Fuzion 403 RV will fit through this toll booth. Any route advice will also be appreciated. Thank you.

Unless it is marked for "cars only", you will fit. If it is for all it may look narrow but being new At this you will find a few "pucker" moments going through tolls and after a while it will get easy. Concentrate on keeping the drivers side of the trailer just off of the curb and the other side will follow along obediently. I can understand how you feel as I felt the same way on day two of class a school. It gets easy quick!

You will be OK, just don't get too jittery over it. It's been years since I've been there. Are you planning on fishing? Be absolutely safe if you are wade fishing the pass. If you have kids with you don't let them in over ankle deep. That pass has treacherous currents. It is a death hole. I pulled a guy out about 1978. Haven't been back.

Country Rd 257 is shown as a truck route between Galveston and Surfside Beach in the Rand McNally 2020 Motor Carriers Road Atlas. If it’s good for tractor trailer rigs, you’ll be fine. The bridge looks pretty narrow along its entire length though. Not sure the pucker factor will subside after you clear the toll plaza until you’re back on terra firma.

Pucker factor, that is funny, if the lanes are wide enough for a tractor Tralier there should not be a pucker factor. That is unless a small compact car is all you have ever driven. We daily drive a DRW, so not an issue for us.
