Slide not working

Posting this for the benefit of others. We solved the issue pretty quickly, but it was not something I had seen before…

We arrived at the campsite after a 200 mile drive and started the setup routine. I had a kid putting out slides for me, and he found the kitchen slide wasn’t working.

I have had fuses blow in the past on this slide, so I carry spares. I confidently went to the fuse box in the underbelly and started pulling/checking the fuses. They were all good.

After some head scratching, I climbed up on the kitchen island to get access to the slide motor and started to unwrap the electrical tape around the wire nuts for the power supply. Jiggled things around a bit and had the wife try again. Solved!

Moral of the story: driving down the bumpy highway can cause things to loosen. This is a simple thing to look for before calling a mobile RV tech or waiting weeks to get your rig into the shop! And always carry spare fuses and electrical tape.
