Front AC. Question

2016 Keystone, Sprinter, 316 BRK, front AC not cooling, running but not cooling. Rear AC working fine. Not trying to run both at same time. Currently connected to 30 amp service, all 120 volt and 12 volt circuits/appliances work fine. Using 30 amp cord and adapter to connect to 50 amp plug/socket on the trailer. ? Does the front AC require a full 50 amp connection to work? Is there a front AC switch other than the wall thermostat that I am overlooking? Thanks in advance

Does the front AC compressor run? When you turn on the AC your fan should run and you should be able to hear the compressor start a few seconds later.

There should be about a 20 degree drop from intake to exhaust, and if you have an AC amp clamp you can test amp draw, about 14-18 amps RUNNING is ok.

Thanks for you response. I can hear the fan and compressor running. I think it was that the outside temperature well above 90 F as was the inside temperature when I attempted to run it. Started it this morning and working fine. Again thanks for your info, will see how it performs today.

Regardless of the temperature inside or outside, place a thermometer right at the closest vent or at the dump vent on the AC and get the temperature right at the AC. It may surprise you that both are actually spitting out the same temperature. It's just the space around the AC that is too open to really feel the difference. Use a thermal thermometer if you have one. These are great for checking the temperature of your tires too, and everything else.... including the true temperature inside your refrigerator and freezer and kids when they have fevers.
