2021 Fuzion 424 shower

New rig, the shower is draining very very slowly. I know that the shower will fill up and spill over if not watching it. We think there is a lot of saw dust in the line but don't want to stick anything down the drain due to a label about a dry catch or something like that. The soonest appt. Is 30 Mar 21. Anyone have knowledge to pass on?

What's under your shower is a HEPvO valve. It's essentially a flat rubber device that opens to allow water to flow through it, but closes so water can't backflow in the opposite direction.

If there is sawdust or debris in the rubber bladder, you may be able to flush it out with water pressure. Build (or modify) a plunger and garden hose so you can set it over the drain, turn on the water and "push" anything out of the HEPvO valve. Alternatively, get under the shower (it's accessible in the passthrough) and take the valve off the shower drain, clean it and reinstall.

If you do remove it, pay SPECIAL attention to how it's installed so you get it reinstalled in the same orientation. If you install it "upside down" it won't work.

A word of caution: DO NOT STICK ANYTHING DOWN THE DRAIN... if you do, you'll probably destroy the rubber bladder in the valve. A new one is around $50. That's a part you don't want to destroy by experimenting....
