Cougar 22MLSWE

Hi, I am a travel trailer newbie and trying to figure it all out. We have a Cougar 22MLSWE on order and wondering if it has 50 amp service rather than only 30 amp. I am have having difficulty finding a definitive answer. I do see that the solar package is 30 amp. Thanks for the help!

Your power cord has 3 pins = 30A and if it has 4 pins = 50A. There should be a sticker on the outside of the camper that tells you if it is 30A or 50A located next to the place where the power cord enters or connects to your trailer.

If you're buying accessories like an EMS for your new trailer, I'd urge you to hold off until you can verify that it does have 50 amp service. All of the trailers that I could find for sale that have photos of the interior do not show a second air conditioner plug over the bed. That's usually because the trailer is a 30 amp model. Three of the trailers had photos of a round "shore power hatch" which is usually indicative of 30 amp service, but two had square "shore power hatches" which could be 30 or 50 amp service....

So, it could go either way, at least from photos of the same trailer that I found online......

Thank you so much everyone!! As you can see, there is conflicting information and, since it is a small trailer, I guessed it has 30amp service but maybe 50amp. I think I will take the good advice and wait until arrival before I load up on related equipment. THANK YOU

My mistake.. i didn’t know about the east/west differences. Thought they were purely cosmetic...sorry

Not unless it's labeled incorrectly from the factory like ours!!

You can still load up on a water hose, an adjustable water pressure regulator, sewer hoses & fittings, anything that's not power related & everything mama wants inside.

Waiting would be the right choice. Nothing in the Keystone information indicates it would be available with 50A service or 2nd AC;

If you take the time to look at the link to the Western build Cougar brochure I posted, at the bottom it shows the 22MLSWE in the notes as not having a 50A option. There is no Eastern built 22MLSWE only a 22MLS if I read things correctly. It is a 26' travel trailer and I guess they figured a single A/C was plenty. Would have been nice to have the option for a 50A and wired/braced for 2nd A/C.

I did take the time to give it an overview. I had previously read another document that precluded all "22xxx" models from 50A but did not list that specific number. I looked at your document but quite honestly, hidden in the many lines of fuzzy writing, looking thru 2 year old quadfocals with cataracts...I failed to see that model listed. I DID however go back, concentrate and saw that model number (however minutely) listed.

The Keystone specs list it as prewired and roof stressed for second 13.5 roof ac.
This would mean wired for 50amp service and 50A cable basic.

Always carry a 50A to 30A dogbone adapter for those sites and hookups that only have 30A available.
Your rig runs fine on 30A you just can’t run as many things at the same time. Usually if you have 2 AC units installed you won’t be able to run but one AC on 30A.
When you try to go over the 30A total coming in you trip the breaker... just like at home.

According to the 2021 Cougar brochure, the option you note is listed as:

50 amp service/wire and brace for 2nd A/C MANDATORY
(N/A 22MLSWE, 22RBSWE, 24SABWE, 250BSWE)

According to the brochure, 50 amp service is not available on the 22MLSWE.
