I am assuming you have a scale slip to confirm?

It really doesn’t matter if you assumed correctly. You are tasked with showing a wt. slip that’s overweight. Rest assured the wt. slip says what I say. Keystone says what I say. “HALF TON” is written on the Cougar.
If you say I’m wrong, then prove it! Don’t display your mental gymnastics to me. If my wt. slip was “public information”, then I wouldn’t have an issue with your request. However, it is intuitively obvious to the casual observer that you are faced with genuine opposition that confuses your narrative. My weight, as well as my dog’s weight is PERSONAL INFORMATION. I don’t see you reporting your wife’s weight because it’s against your own rules.

So, your end goal is to get this thread locked too.

I was thinking the same thing. A troll is a troll and will always be a troll. I choose not engage in his mindless dribble any further, so I elected to block him (5 1/2 years here and never had to do that before this week and now here I am blocking a second one after personal attacks that have no place in a civilized forum).

I am beginning to tune out threads where folks ask about towing and then start quoting "tow ratings" and such. I assume you are referring to Mr. Finesse of Goodyear AZ and don't understand what you are saying. Help me out as I am not a Reddit partaker. Mr. Finesse seems to be verging on disagreeable rudeness.

Me too. I'm in the "you do you" camp when it comes to towing. The standards are pretty much black and white so no real need to post any questions about it. Over or under, folks are gonna do what they want anyway regardless of what is said on this forum. But I do like to see a one sided a$$ kicking as Billy Bob Thornton said on Landman last night and what you guys did to Finesse.

I have the East Coast Version of the trailer, the 25RDS. After being sucked in by the Keystone "1/2 ton " BS, I purchased my trailer to be towed by my F150 8 cylinder truck. Oh, it "pulled" it alright, but "towing" was a different thing. The rear suspension was just too light for the weight, and I had airbags; but that didn't help matters. After two trips where I fought some serious sway despite my 1300 lb. Blue OX WDH, I decided that something had to give. I traded up to a 2020 F250 6.7-liter diesel, and the sway problem vanished. The stated tongue weight of the trailer @ 850lbs +/- is too light. It is closer to 1,000 lbs.+ with two 30lb propane tanks on the tongue and, and my 600iL solar package equipment in the front passthrough. Even with the 10,000lb GVWR versus the 7500 lb on my old F150, I still need to watch GVW on the truck when loaded for a long trip. If it were me, I would pass on that model if a larger truck is a dealbreaker. I REALLY like my 25RDS, once I worked the small kinks out of the design/build of the trailer. I had some problems with the unit initially, but with the help of a nice young lady at Keystone Customer Service, I got all but one corrected, and that was never fixed by my dealer. They were too stupid to fix it, and too proud to ask for help from Keystone. Oh well, lesson learned. I am now my own RV tech, me and YouTube! Good luck with your purchase. It might work out for you, but I am skeptical.

Randy, I can understand why these questions come up. Many times a person interested in towing has already purchased a brand new xxx (fill in the blanks) and then becomes interested in what his xxx can tow. He goes to the manufacturers website and sees that the "towing capacity" is 12000 lbs for his model (xxx).
Next thing, he will look at the Keystone website and see labels like "half ton towable" and feels good to go. Then he asks the forum (uh-oh!). He finds he doesn't own the theoretical xxx with the 12K tow rating but owns, well, the truck he bought with every gee-gaw and add on money can buy (it is a nice truck) and hears about payload for the first time.... OOOPS
He then hears that that specs that Keystone claims do not really apply to the real world and that HALF TON TOWABLE is a marketing phrase as most 1/2 ton trucks are very unsafe towing that camper.
At this point in the education, the questioning member will go one of three ways....
1. denial and argue
2. buy a more capable tow vehicle
3. disappear

There is a fourth option:
Stop listening to the BS from RV salesmen, do your due diligence on whatever you think you want, within the performance specs of your desired truck. Down grade your desired TT or get more truck!

I have a similar TT and was towing with a 1500 5.3 on flat ground there isn’t much issue. Towing up grades or coming down hill smoked my truck brakes. I ended up getting a 250 diesel and let me tell you 3/4 ton is the way to go. All the torque up hills and exhaust brake coming down I rarely even touch the brake pedal. If you’re dead set on that trailer consider upgrading your truck shortly after.
