A couple of years ago I found I could no longer connect via Global Connect so I contacted their support people. They were really helpful and walked me through discovering that the date and time were incorrect in my In Command software because of a bug they released in a prior upgrade. This kept it from connecting to the internet. If I remember correctly, they were fixing it in the next release but were able to help me fix it in the version I had. So my main advice is to contact Support but you might also take a look at your system settings to see if the date and time are correct. Since I fixed that problem it’s been rock solid.

Appreciate the heads up.
I'll have a look at it and see if this may have some effect on it.

Have you done a software download? If not, that's the first thing that needs to be done. Once I did that and set the date/time I was golden.

Dave and I had a wonderful get together today. His problem turned out to be that his Wi-Fi signal was just barely strong enough to register in his rig. We relocated the repeater in his workshop so the signal didn't have to go through 40 feet of machine tools, and his Global Connect is just burning up the airwaves.
For those of you with iPhones, you can use the builtin Airport Utility app to show you signal strength directly. Anything -70 or lower (-75. -80, etc.) is likely to be unsatisfactory.

Thank you for taking the time to help him out.
Great member support!!
Also shows that sometimes In-Command gets the blame for something totally not the fault of In-Command.

Mine has been reliable but I can see here that some people have had reliability problems and I’d understand why they’re happy to see it go. But now it looks like I’ll have shell out extra when I get a new trailer to get a WiFi-enabled thermostat so I can at least monitor and operate heat and A/C remotely.

My fifth wheel has the small touch screen remote control so I missed out on the In Command years. Do the new trailers not have any remote control at all, for anything? I use the remote all the time to raise and lower the jacks, put out the slides, and use the awnings, so going back to needing to hit buttons inside the trailer would be enough to make me look at another brand when it's time to upgrade in a year or two.
I don't really care if I can control anything over the Internet, but I at least want the functionality I have now of controlling it while walking around the outside of the the trailer. Are there any options for adding in remote control functionality for those things?

You can link your smartphone via bluetooth to the incommand system…download the app and your phone acts as the remote control

I think he is asking about the newer trailers that did away with In-Command.
So for those trailers, there is no In-Command to link too.
Do they offer another way of operating slides, jacks, etc via some type of remote like he is used too?
Or do you have to always use the buttons on the inside panel?

Nope. If you want simple you don't get bluetooth. I too don't want to be without that capability. He has In Command, I just don't think he realizes he can connect to his In Command via bluetooth and control things from his smart phone. My In Command, EMS and EQ leveling system are all on bluetooth. Makes setting up a snap.

Before InCommand, there was a wireless remote control, and that is what is being referred to.
My 2024 Cougar didn’t come with InCommand, but I can control my HVAC system and Lippert leveling system with my iPhone. As for everything else, I have an eager 11 year old to run those things while I watch from outside. For what it’s worth, she is about as reliable as InCommand.

Correct, the remote in your image is what I have now since my trailer was built before they added In Command. I just can't believe that if they removed In Command in this year's models they didn't at least go back to the simpler system they had before that. My trailer has all the buttons inside you can use if you want, but there was also the separate remote you could use if you chose to.

What type of setup do you have to control HVAC systems with? With something like that In Command could easily be replaced with a simple switch setup. However I would lose the remote functionality.

I picked up a Micro-Air EasyTouch thermostat on a Black Friday sale last year in a combo with an EasyStart AC soft starter. I just checked and they have a sale ending today; https://www.microair.net/
The thermostat gives me complete control of the furnace and two AC units via bluetooth or WiFI.

Thanks. I was thinking you may have found some way to network the AC units and make them BT available. Something to replace the CAN bus.
