So they built some complicated circuit and circuit board to reverse the thing an inch when it stops? Why not put a reversible switch on it so it can be reeled out as well as in?

Im glad my 2014 has the manual crank up reel located in the basement.. Conventional RV 50 amp plugs on each end of cable..

Those slip rings and contacts on each of the 3 wires L1,L2 and N will be problematic sooner or later...

I have read that some people have a system that will reel out as well as in. The system that I have is made by Southwire. In their own literature they say that the switch is not to be mounted outside or in a wet environment. The OEM's are the ones that mount them right next to the reel on the outside. A person could easily put a marine grade momentary on / off / momentary on switch with 6 terminals and put the jumpers on it to reverse the polarity in one position. The OEM switch cost's either $65 to $110 and the one that I used cost me $7 on Amazon. It was an easy choice for me.

I don't have a power reel, however; our unit has the power stabilizer switches mounted in the J wrap. The OEM location obviously places them in a precarious position for water intrusion. Solution? A can of WD-40. I spray the switches from the outside into the switch and liberally spray the back of the switch including the wire terminals every time I'm at the . Now, 12 yrs later, the OEM switches (just slide out switches) are still working fine. Your milage may very.
