Keystone is using the Lippert ABS system, not the Dexter system (unless they are adding it to lower tier models).

The Lippert system that Keystone uses is only an ABS system.

The Lippert ABS is NOT an anti-sway system. But Lippert does have a separate "True Course™ Anti-Sway Technology" by activating trailer brakes independently of tow vehicle to mitigate effects of trailer side-to-side sway using advanced microprocessor technology to detect dangerous trailer movement.

Some ABS bullet points from the Lippert literature:
*Improves control on slippery roads and in emergency braking situations
*Integrates with trailer brakes to prevent trailer wheel lock-up
*Dynamic Brake Boost temporarily boosts brake torque for more stopping performance in emergency or harsh stop situations.

In the HVAC field there is multiple avenues of training and support on most of the products either thru the manufacturer or the supply houses where it’s purchased.

It just seems like towable RVs went from fairly basic / standard construction and ways of doing things for decades to Hi tech / complicated onboard systems in the last five years or so.

Solar systems, inverters, 12volt inverter refrigerators and tankless water heaters…incommand and now abs brakes among many other things…wondering if the pay and training has increased or do they just dump all this stuff on you and hope you figure it out while the warranty units pile up on the lot

Lippert offers training, mostly in person seminars but some online training that gives a tech credits towards continued certification. The problem is most facilities can’t afford to lose a tech for the day, and a lot of the newer (younger) workers aren’t willing to get training in off hours.

In 2013 my employer at the time wanted us all RVIA certified. It required the completion of 5 modules on line, I was the only tech that completed it because I would do them on my tablet while I watched tv. At that point I was “RVIA registered” to get certification it required the dealership to pay $350.00 and an hours long on line test.

I believe RVDA is responsible for training certification, but I have gained a lot of my knowledge in the “trial by fire” school.

I get regular emails from Lippert to attend training, but the only ones in my area are ones I’ve already attended.

Does anyone know if ABS can be added to a trailer after purchase?
