Slide-out roof replacement Keystone Springdale

I have a 2009 Keystone Springdale 291RK-SSR. I bought this used a couple of years ago and is my first RV. The seller said a tree fell on the top of the side during a storm and there may be some small leaks if it rains when the slide is out. The slide leaks when it rains whether it’s in or out, and they aren’t small leaks.

I see plenty of videos on roof repair (my roof is fine) and seal replacement, but it appears to me I need to replace the dented top of the slide. While I can work on a house, I have no idea how these RV’s are constructed. Is it a big deal to replace the top of the slide and all the seals without removing the slide? The slide works fine.

I’m trying to decide if I tear this thing apart and try to repair it, sell it as a handyman special being honest about it needing repairs, or try to find an RV place to do the repairs. This RV isn’t worth a lot, so I doubt the RV place doing repairs is an option.

I’m not trying to make this sound like a minor repair. I believe I need to replace the roof of the slide and everything around it. But I don’t think I need to remove the slide?

Any videos or ideas from anyone that has done this would be appreciated.
Thanks.

On my camper, the two square bits of trim were stapled into place and not glued and when re-attaching those trim pieces, some wood putty in the holes (I used finishing nail instead of staples) hides the heads.

Some photos of what you mean by, "I need to replace the dented top of the slide" Depending on "what part is dented" Whether it's the actual slide top frame, the insulation and upper luan panel, the top flange (which is screwed on) or just what you mean by "dented top"...

If you can post "lots of photos" that show the damage, the location of the damage on the slide and the seals, then you'd get a much better analysis of what you'll need to do to repair the slide.

Remember, Springdale is a Wood Frame travel trailer with "hand stuffed fiberglass batting insulation, so any water intrusion into the sidewalls will affect the integrity of the walls much faster than on an aluminum frame trailer. So, depending on the length of time since that tree fell on the slide and how much water has leaked into the trailer, you may have significantly more damage from the water than from the tree.

Photos would be a great help in understanding what damage you have and how to best approach it.

Thanks all, that video helps a lot.

By dented on the top I mean that there is an indentation where water sits. It doesn’t leak though, but I know I need to replace the whole top panel of the slide.
