I didn't have the IS suspension but had a couple close friends that upgraded to it. Both said it was by far the best upgrade they'd ever spent money on. Both said they could leave a full cup of coffee or glass of water on the counter & it still be where they sat it at the end of the days travel.
I crawled under & inspected the job done by MorRyde on those couple & was very impressed with the quality of the job. The frame is beefed up considerably where the suspension is added & a few feet on either side as well, its no longer the weak point. The difference was they also had the disc brakes added as well.
I did the disc brake conversion by Performance Trailer Braking & I upgraded to 17.5" wheels & tires from them as well, both were upgrades I'd highly recommend, especially the disc brakes.

Yes, Performance Trailer Braking and their disc brake install is great. I mentioned to Betty that independent suspension was next. That got vetoed.

I think John (JRTJH) makes a good point about moving the weakest link. In my view that would be the case if for example you jump up several load ranges of tire and go to far with it and expose the next weakest link. Having load range D tires and upgrading to load range E for example is a good idea.
I think the same principle would apply to other components such as axles and springs. You can make it too stiff.
