Tail Gate Dropping

Curious if any one else has had this issue. Drove from southern Missouri to Nashville on some of the roughest interstate in Kentucky. While getting off the interstate by the KOA I got a warning to check the trailer wiring connection. I'm sure almost all of us have seen this before that the connector works loose. Being literally a few hundred yards from the campgrounds I figured I would check it when I stopped. Pulling into the campgrounds I hear this ugly crunch, I discovered that the tailgate had dropped and now was embedded in to the front of my Raptor. Talking with neighbor in the campground the same thing had happened to him some time ago. Of course Chevy says they know of no issues.
FYI Brand new 2019 Chevy Silverado 3500 CrewCab with 8 foot bed.
