Under the bed rail system

Pulled the trigger on new 2015 F-350 DRW. Took truck off of lot, need to add under bed fifth wheel rails. Truck has a drop in liner

Question is will it work liner ? will also be using adapter for old Reese fifth wheel.

I do know drop in liner are not good for bed. (Currently have it for sale on Craiglist, may just Pull it out.) Spray in liner a few months away.

Bed liner will work, but you have to cut it where the hitch goes through. IMO it ruins the reason for a liner.

Yes, it will work with any conventional "rail type" fifth wheel hitch. It will also work with sliding hitches, although it does raise the "hitch connect points about 1.5" higher than the bed, so there may be an issue with the slide hitches "rocking" a bit at the end of their travel.

My 2013 F250 has the fifth wheel hitch package. When I install the Reese adapter, it sits about 3/8" above the truck bed. While that's a "pretty close" fit, it may be possible that it would ride above the "drop in bed liner". However, I agree with the others, cutting hole in that "expensive" liner defeats the purpose of having the liner and it will continue to vibrate on the bed, possibly causing scratching and eventual corrosion under the plastic liner. I'd agree, take it out, sell it for what you can get and use that "profit" as a down payment on a spray in bedliner. If you're a "brave do-it-yourselfer", you can get a "spray/rollon bed liner kit from almost any parts store. With proper prep, careful application and not "too many" adult beverages, you can get the same results as a commercially applied liner. Of course, if you're not "that brave" it may be better to have a professional work on your $60K truck.

A buddy of mine has been installing the spray in bed liners since they first appeared and when I asked him to spray the F250 he told me to use the truck for a few years and then spray it. His logic is sound, since he has to sand/ rough up the paint for the spray to adhere and it will cover any scratches I may have put in. His reasoning is the liner will look better and the truck will bring more on resale.

That's a good point, Javi. Mine was sprayed at the factory by Ford, so nothing added after the sale. On my F150, I had LineX applied to the bed the day after we bought it. My reasoning was to get the "anti-slip" coating. Things have a way of sliding around in the bed of my truck, so I wanted something to stop that from happening. I suppose I could have done it with a 3x5 rubber stall mat a lot cheaper, but I didn't want 5 gallon gas cans sliding around on the way home from the store.
