Snowbirds !!

Remember... Florida is also known as "God's Waiting Room"!

We have traveled all over the south and chose to winter in Arizona. We struck gold in the first park we chose and kept coming back for a total of 6 winters. Despite my comment about God's Waiting Room I find that 55+ RV parks are preferable no matter what part of the country you are in. Maybe it's just me, but I find that everyone is there for the same reason and seems to be friendly and sociable. Regular parks are OK, but there is a mixture of fulltime RV families, seasonal workers, weekenders, and people just passing through, which makes it harder to establish friendships.

1. cranky old people
2. really cranky old people
3 really cranky rude old people
4 younger, non-retired weird people such as
4a. off gridders that are recluse for what ever reason... lock your doors
4b flat earther home schooling families who's kids are dumb as a bucket of rocks.
4c middle aged women wearing hemp clothes and a Namaste sticker on a toyota prius car camping.
5. rich 500K class A jerks... no pun intended (they like nobody)
6. next tier is the "my rig and TV is bigger then yours"

It's all pretty hilarious the people you meet.... of course you will come across some really nice people too. but snowbirding is not what you will imagine if you are under 50.

As the saying goes: IT TAKES ONE TO KNOW ONE!

I would have no problem calling out any rude *******s.
It’s no different in Arizona in Goodyear where my mother lives. (She lives in a house) She shares some of the same sentiments as you and she’s 88.
You said your non retired so maybe find a balance as you probably cannot go very far.

Too funny 😄. We spend winters in Sarasota and I’m sure the locals here feel the same as you. In Virginia Beach we’re inundated with tourists from early spring thru late fall. Then we come down here for the winter and experience crowded roads, restaurants and beaches, just like home in the summer. Warm and dry has its price.

Last October we went to Pigeon Forge for a week. Visited my cousin while there. She said the locals call us “leafers” because of the October tourist crush. We didn’t go there for the fall colors, but it was obvious from the crowds that the nickname fit.
