Hey all,

Taking the family to Yellowstone this late August. This will be outr first trip and was looking for some advice about the Park Campgrounds. We are looking at Madison, Grant Village, and/or Bridge Bay. Looking for a good camping experience, nice grounds, good location, ease of getting there,etc...

Any ideas? Thanks!

I stayed at Grants Village in 2010. It was nice. I was on a lake.
I really like the Grand Tetons. They were awesome!
If I had to do it all over again I would stay in the Tetons.
My site in Yellowstone with my old 5th wheel and 1989 GMC 1 ton.

Dave I notice you are in Dupont. You will most likely take the same path out there that I did. My old 1 ton did fine even over the big passes. He slowed down to the the mid 40's at times, but never got hot and the tranny never went above 200.
My new truck would have destroyed my old 1 ton with that little 5th wheel.

Wish I were going with you this year!

The big grade on Lookout Pass, going up the Idaho side.

Been over that pass several times, but never towing a TT, it is one nasty pass.

I was worried, but it was really no big deal. If your equipment is ready and you trust your indications it is a piece of cake.

Both times we have been to Yellowstone we have stayed at Fishing Bridge Campground. Nothing special but well located for seeing the sights and fly fishing. Our preference however is Colter Bay in the Tetons.

We always stay in Grand Teton so we can do the sunrise photography thing then do day trips to Yellowstone. We really like the Colter Bay RV park, but reservations are at a premium. When we go, we make our reservations a year ahead just to ake sure we will have a space.

PS. I have no connection with this place, just know someone that has stayed

once in awhile however ......
