Floor replacement in Slide Out

Hey all, so I have been in the remodeling process of my TT and upon ripping the carpet out, I found my slide out wood to be rotten and destroyed.


I am looking at $3k+ to get the repair done at dealer/rv repair shop, so I am contemplating doing it myself.



Does anyone have any leads, info, etc. that could possibly benefit me? Where to get 12ft long plywood, tips or tricks, etc.?

The slide has to be removed in order to replace the floor. If you found a place that will do it for $3K I would seriously consider it.

You say the slide has to be removed? Is this a keystone deal? I am only asking because I have seen many people on YouTube replace the slide floor without taking the whole out. They stilted the side, unscrewed wood from walls and such, then hammered it out.



I have also seen people remove small slides completely.

Every shop I worked at removed the slide, I suppose you could use the YouTube method depending on size and what’s in the slide like fridge, stove etc.

My slide was a couch and the dinette, which both are removed already. Basically an empty box now. Thanks for the reply.

We always took them out and then laid them on their side as long as it’s filon walls.
