New & Improved

Well that’s not true but… greetings from Daytona Beach. I came from ten years full- timing in a Winney 37G, and before that a few funky rigs like a ‘71 D-24 and then an Argosy. I recently acquired this ‘06 28KRS and a Royal Enfield Himalayan to put in it. Does anyone still have a Kargaroo? I have questions 😂 and would like to know if anyone is still using one. As soon as I came on this site I learned things I needed to know. Thank you all for sharing your knowledge and experiences.

Welcome to the forum

Step son and his wife had one. Just find the correct forum and ask away, doesn’t really matter which model you have they are all pretty much the same just things put in different spots.

Welcome to the forums and congrats on picking-up your new camper, but I will say, I had absolutely no idea what a "Royal Enfield Himalayan" was. So Googled it. .... Nice!

Happy camping!

Welcome to the site. I would be kind of afraid to get too frisky in that bed hanging out like that... fortunately, the urge doesn't take me there much in my advanced age. I lived in India for 3 1/2 years and the Royal Enfield has come a long way. I didn't ride an RE there but owned a Ramona. Big steel heavy single with 6V electrics. Probably the only one they ever sold as I never saw another.

Ma Ma Ma My Ramona

My turn to google as I had never heard of those. Honda has at least one like that, is supposed to be a competent trail bike. My use for the RE would be on benign trails and into town for supplies. It is half the weight of the Road King and I find myself taking it more often, just fun to ride. Thanks for the welcome. Putting a new toilet in the camper tomorrow and have flange anxiety. Have replaced toilets but never below. Hope you all have a nice weekend.

A little sidebar I guess;

Had a friend that had a 1969 Royal Enfield Interceptor and I had a Triumph Trident 750 triple. Don't hear folks talk about Royal Enfields much anymore. Long ago but lots of fun "back when". Thanks for the memories.

I guess they’ve been co-manufacturing them in India since the 50’s, and continue to even tho no longer made in England. I call it my K-Mart bike, great fun to ride but maybe not the highest standards for quality. Then again it was $5000 for a 2021 411cc dual sport motorcycle, kind of hard to beat. My toilet anxiety was for naught, all in!

Royal Enfield was a Brit arms manufacturer that got into motorcycle manufacturing and when they got out of the business sold the tools and dies for the Bullet to India. India started making the 350cc single and later expanded to a 500cc (this is from memory). The Bullet was popular in India because it had a long flat seat so dad could drive the bike, mom could sit side saddle and the kids would be in between and on the handlebars, etc. Family transport. An accessory often installed was a light cage type thing on one side of the rear wheel so mom didn't get her sari caught when cruising. I didn't buy one myself because they cost about $400 and you could buy a Ramona for $150. The Indian Bullet wasn't really a bike you would want to bring back to the States because while simple and easy to maintain, required a lot of maintenance and was kind of slow... I imagine 50mph would be pushing it. The Ramona could get up to about 40mph as I recall (down wind).
