Squeaky 5th wheel steps inside

Hey folks,

We are just enjoying our first trip with our Cougar Halbton 29MBS but realized that the two steps into the bedroom area are super squeaky.
We are both rather lightweight so quite surprised.

Is there anything we can do about it?

If you remove the rear wall of the basement you should be able access the bottoms of the steps. Probably just need to tighten screws or add a couple.

I unscrewed the basement cover but wasn’t able to access the stairs. Found the water pump though! :-)

But I decided to simply unscrew the top layer of the stairs. Lots of sawdust from the factory and it seemed they were slightly too wide for their position. So I applied some WD40 on a cloth for the sides and it did the trick.
May be this helps also other folks!

Glad it worked out. And you found the water pump.
