If this is the radio described here (
link), the "light in the top left corner" is actually an infrared detector and not a light at all.
Your post doesn't contain enough information to determine how well or badly the radio works or doesn't work. Can you set the clock? Can you choose between zone 1 and 2? Do the right-hand row of buttons have any effect?
Do you have KeyTV? That always complicates things tremendously.
If not, have you tried searching for both AM and FM stations with the TV antenna booster button both and and off? Sometimes it works better one way or the other.
