New Impact 359

Just purchased my first Toy Hauler. I’m picking it up in a few weeks. We did a small walk through while we were there but the final walk through happens when I pick it up. During my final walk through are there any trouble areas I need to look for ? What’s the most common issue with the impacts or fuzion lineup. I know they all have issues these days so expect to be fixing little stuff. Thanks for any advice it’s much appreciated.

Congrats on your new purchase. Make them SHOW you everything works before you drive away. What are going to be towing it with?

Got that right! OP:

It would be very helpful to everyone on the forum if you created a signature. Tow vehicle, and trailer info for sure and anything else you might want to add.

I would make sure EVERYTHING works before you take it off the lot.

Billy, If this is your first camper try and find someone who knows RVs well to help with your walk through. As mentioned previously, ALL systems including HVAC, converter, appliances, plumbing should be thoroughly checked. The selling dealership will be more motivated to fix any issues you find than if you find them after getting the new camper home. Second tip is to flip your pictures 90 degrees using MS Paint or similar. I am not 100 percent sure why they are all sideways when posted but seems to me you took them in landscape (phone sideways?) mode. I am sure one of our younger folks with a better memory can chime in. And the signature suggested will be helpful for the many questions you will be asking.

This is my first Toy Hauler not my first trailer
and I’m pretty thorough when it comes to going over peoples work. I’m a foreman Electrician and do a lot of walk throughs but extremely confident in myself at my trade. Im just asking what to keep a strong eye on. Roof , underbelly snd anything that moves should be tested from plumbing to electrical to drawers sliding is what I got from a search. And my pics aren’t taken in landscape and I added a signature last night not sure where it went.

Your signature is showing now. ANY new trailer can have issues from the factory, and any good dealership will address them prior to delivery. As I stated in my first post. Have it plugged in, fridge cold and test everything.

Didn't mean to say you didn't know what you are doing but trailer build quality has been an ongoing discussion subject since the pandemic rush on Keystone getting campers out the door. MANY complaints and most could have been avoided by a careful check of the campers systems prior to dragging it away from the dealership. Look at the number of roof issues noted on new campers, the number of converter issues, the trim falling off, dripping water fittings, etc. If you know what you are doing, dig in before you leave.

As I mentioned about the picture orientation; someone here can tell you why all your pictures are flipped... I was guessing and admitted I had a bad memory.

The two most common issues us 2021 Fuzion owners have had are.

1) Transfer Pump Switch (mine was intermittent and replaced under warranty)
2) Slide Alignment

Make sure to test the switch, and that the slides are coming in and out at exactly the same rate on both sides.

Enjoy the new hauler!

Just curious, is your transfer switch just behind the converter? If so, what type converter? MY BIL has a Conquest Class C and the transfer switch wires melted on the first one. Second one installed under warranty and it blew the fuse (or circuit breaker- can't recall for sure) located at the generator.

When the wires fried on the first one, I removed them, clipped the ends and hot wired them directly to the converted and thus bypassed the transfer switch as a temporary measure till he could get the thing fixed under warranty.

Oops... I should have clarified. Fuel Transfer Station switch

I've had zero issues with the 50amp auto transfer switch, nor have I heard of any new Fuzions having issues with it. Also, our 50amp transfer switch is located in the basement, driver side near the convenience center.

Gotcha! Thanks. I believe my BIL's converter/transfer switch was made by WFCO.
