My Black is not closing all the way, so I asked my helpers what they thought about changing it. They both said Live with it, not touching it .
Quite often, the black tank valve will not close completely because there is some paper, plastic or other object stuck between the valve blade and the rubber seal. Sometimes, if you can "reach your arm in far enough" to access the valve, you can use a short piece of wire clothes hanger to pick out the "offending object". On the other hand, if the valve IS closing all the way and still leaking, then it's either worn seals or a bad valve body/valve blade.

So, if you can't push the valve handle all the way in, look for something stuck in the valve before automatically thinking that the valve is bad. It may still be a bad valve, but as your helpers told you, easier to live with it if it's not too bad rather than "jump in with both feet to find out it just needed to be cleaned well" .....

If you can't find the obstruction as John suggested I agree with BookPaul74.

I had an old TT where the black valve would not seal and the exact same valve end that BP74 showed a picture of fixed it easily AND cheaply.

Had our outing this weekend and it was so nice to pull and push the new valve. Could push it in with 2 fingers.

Happy Dance and no 800 buck plus bill
