Cougar RLS Water Heater

Our 2018 Cougar water heater is working on electric ok but when we push the switch for the DSI the blue light comes on but nothing happens, no gas heater, I don't hear the igniter and the light just stays on. What can I look for?

Welcome to the forum

Are you sure you have propane and its turned on? Does the stove light? If the stove lights, then turn the LP water heater on and go outside to the tank. Does it try to light (click)? there is a gas valve in the lower left corner, do you hear it click at all?

If you are running your water heater on electric and it's already up to temperature, the gas won't light at all. It's already up to temperature. Turn the electric off, turn the gas on, and run a 4 or 5 gallons of water through it. It's now colder water. The gas should light. If not, go to step 2. .... um ... not sure what that would be yet.

DOH!!! I wasn't in thinking mode when I responded. It's like 80+ degrees and I am tuning a HOT (not cooled off) 1990 350 in a K5 Blazer.

Before you call a tech, do you have a Volt/Ohm meter? Brand of W/H?
