New 2016 Premier 19fbpr

I just purchased a new Premier 19fbpr and pretty sure I am going to have to add a longer mattress. Has anyone done this?

The trailer seems to be well insulated. Any problem with sweating widows when running furnace in cold weather?

This is quite a drop in size for us. Going from a 36' 14k Toy Hauler!!

I would say it is a drop in size... Welcome to the Premier family. We have the 31BH and love it. Stays warm and not issues with sweating window. Enjoy.

We also have the 19. Today is actually it's 2 year anniversary of our purchase of it. We have slept in it literally over a hundred times and gone many thousands of miles and never tire of it. The mattress is a bit short - one way we remedy that is to pull it down a few inches before bed at night. Have discussed having one made at a mattress factory that's not quite a full queen, but so far we just use it as is. We feel it would hang too far into the door area if we went with a full queen. Weight is also an issue, because we finally perfected the knack of making it! Hope you enjoy your Premier as much as we do. The 19 is small, but it definitely has its advantages in that regard. We just came home from a 44-day trip and had everything we needed to live very comfortably in it.

Welcome and congratulations on your new trailer!

We have the 22RBPR and just love it, it is perfect for just the 2 of us.

Other than adding a memory foam topper, to the stock mattress, we have no issues with it.

Our next outing is to Arkansas, leaving on the 19th, we have already put ~4K miles on it, on our first 2 trips.

we have over 7000miles on our, it's almost 3 years old. I'm 6'2 and have no problem with the bed length (there is an after marker 4" insert you add to the head before bed to make it longer)

I've stayed in it in the really cold weather with snow and only ran an electric heater and was comfortable, my windows only sometimes sweat in the summer on really humid days with the A/C running . . . . we love ours, but the best thing about this size is, campgrounds always have a site you can fit in

we are planning a trip from Va to the Grand Canyon and back

Have fun, they're nice units

PS join KOKO's small camper community within this forum, lots to share

Have had ours for over 2 years. We generally travel 2-3 months in late winter and the same in the fall. Have just returned from 2 months in the western US. I'm 6' 2" and use a Travasack. That way the bag hangs over the end of the bed and my feet can too without untucking anything. Works fine and a cinch to neaten up in the am. This is a very comfortable trailer for two and with TV it fits into 2 parking spaces, a huge benefit when traveling. Enjoy !

Try a Google search for "mattress extensions". That way you get a multiple number of options.

Where can I find an insert like this? I searched around with no luck.

EDIT: NEVERMIND! Just read the post above asking the same question. I saw the original post about it and jumped to asking without finishing the thread. My bad!

SECOND EDIT: After a search, it seems like you'd be better off going to a craft store and getting a piece of foam cut to the right size for your needs and save yourself some money. $80 for an insert seems high.

I am confused. I believe the 2016 was extended by 6" to 23' 8" and now has a full 60 x 80 queen. Is that not the case with yours? We own a 2015 Fbpr and love it, but at a camper show today, I saw the specs for the 2016 which was the longer version. That would be perfect. My only complaint is bed length. We use a foam spacer at headboard that helps.

Just to update I did extend they plywood mattress support and added the mattress extension. It's much nicer now. I have about 2" of clearance when the slide comes in at the foot of the bed.

Hope you're enjoying your Premier 19. We're out in ours for 4 days right now. Then next week we're off for a month. We've owned ours for 2 1/2 years now and still loving it!

We have only had a chance to use it once so far. We are going out for a week soon. And then we will spend a few weeks in Wyoming like we do each summer.

It will take some getting use to going from 36' to 19' but looking forward to getting into all those parks we could not get into before. Towing 7000 less pounds will be nice too....
