Hydraulic Leak.....Level Up System....Help Please

I have a leak coming from the black line located at the top of the cylinder that runs parallel to the red line. Have tried several time to tighten the fitting with no luck. I do not dare go any tighter as it may then cause damage.

Dealer is 160 miles away and I would rather save myself the trip.

Can I simply remove the line.....plug the line.....and wrap the connector with Teflon tape.....replace......to develop a fluid tight seal? Would it be safe to think that as long as I have a constant flow of fluid when reconnecting I would not have to bleed or purge the line? I know this may be a little messy but may simplify the repair.

Am extremely comfortable with doing the repair myself.....Just need valuable insight from those that have gone before me.

From what I've been able to find, Teflon tape is okay for ATF. That said, it also depends on the fitting. NPT threads do typically need sealant of some kind, but fittings that have washers or o-rings typically do not.

If you do end up using tape, don't wrap too close to the end of the fitting. You don't want to get any tape fragments in the system.

Called LCI today in hopes of getting some info on this repair. They would not give me a thing.....Said that it MUST be done through dealer because of the warranty. Looks like I will be making the trip to Camping World of Omaha.

On a positive note.....I will feel certain that the repair will be done correctly.....At least 98% sure.
