LP tank cover and spring bar latches

Our new 33RES is sitting in our driveway getting the final fit out of all the "stuff" from our other trailer.

While installing the hitch at the dealer, I and they, noted that the over-center latches for the spring bars sit under/behind the molded LP tank cover.

Saw this also on a 33RKS at the storage lot.

This means that every time I hitch or unhitch I have to actually pull the LP tank cover off.

Has anybody "modified" their cover to allow for hitching without removing the LP tank cover.

I've got a few ideas but wanted to see if anybody else had done something to keep DW happy with whatever I may do.

Thanks.

The L brackets for my bars sits right at the forward edge of the LP tank cover. The cover flexes inward so the bracket sits on the outside of it. Can you have the dealer move the brackets either way?

We have the same deal with our spring bars..We just remove the tank cover and leave it off when not in transit, rather than buying a whole new WD system..Doesn't seem to be that big of a problem.. Wife does one side i do the other..
