( CALL THE POLICE ) You want to borrow my phone while I wait for them to show, you can't fix stupid. We thought of becoming camp host a few years ago when we first started going to rv parks, today, no way with all the dumb folks that can not read signs etc. would drive me to drink...

RV Resorts all over the place are denying campers that have RV's over 10 years old. Many upscale RV Resorts in Florida have Motorhome / 5th Wheeler sites but deny trailers camping privileges.

Now if you're a publicly owned campground that's a different story.
We were turned away several times in our Travel Trailer... and not because it was old or ratty... it just wasn't "posh" enough!!! One was simply because it had tin and not fiberglass siding..

And we've been in campgrounds where our neighbors in upscale RVs literally moved as they didn't want to be parked next to "trailer trash" like us!!! LOL

Here's a couple of "cut and pastes" from some RV "resorts" in the Florida keys:

"Minimum RV length is 24 feet (exterior traveling length). Please note that we do not accept tents, pop-up campers, RVs with soft-sided/canvas pop-outs, or truck campers. All units are subject to management approval"

"All registered RV’s must be in good working order and appearance. Management has the right to deny entrance...Persons violating Resort Policies are subject to eviction. Being a privately owned resort, we maintain the right to refuse entry and/or the right to evict those who do not observe or violate our policies."

There's a number of "to do resorts" that restrict rigs on size, apperance and age. We stayed in an RV resort for several years with our Holiday Rambler. Then, one year, after it was 10 years old, we called to make reservations and were denied. Our RV was "too old" for their resort. We weren't real happy campers after that phone call, and had we known about the policy, we'd have definitely not supported their business during the "new and acceptable" years.

Do all of these campgrounds/RV parks give you the information when you try and make a reservation or can you be surprised when you arrive? I don't have a problem with them telling me they don't want me just as long as it isn't on arrival.

Running a campground is like any other business you just run into all types some with an angle. The ones that don't have any money but will get with you in a couple of days. I'm $10 short but just take it and be happy. I was woke up last night by the neighbors I want my money back. It goes on and on bt the problems are from less than 1%

I am a smoker but I hate leaving butts on the ground. I wish all places had a great place to put them, but they don't so I carry around little ashtrays (plastic). After we camp I pick up all trash and butts, mine or not. If they are thrown in the fire place and don't burn then I will do something with them too.

But heck, I am still one if a non smoker is eating next to me, I won't light up.
